Back in the saddle

No, I’m not quite going up ladders yet, but I’m back at work. I’ve been doing some work at another prison, and it’s been amazing – the guys have really responded to what I’ve been doing, and although they have been long (and painful) days, it’s been well worth it.

I’ve fixed up two more series of sessions at GP surgeries, too, to start in April, and done some prep for work in a hospice.

On a personal note, I’ve started using just one crutch; I pruned my roses; I’ve been to see Arbitrage (disappointing) and had a lovely meal out on Mother’s Day with my kids. Ok, I did overdo it with the one crutch thing to start with; my foot swelled up and hurt for two days, but now I’m building up gradually with the aim of being just on one crutch all the time by next weekend.

Rehearsals for my play are coming on really well, too. It may be cold today, but the sun is shining and I have only three more weeks before the boot comes off for good. It won’t be long before everything is back to normal.

I’ve noticed that the garage needs painting. It’s going to be ladders again before you know it.
